How to play
Cirrus Run is a 3D runner. You sprint down three railway tracks, dodge whatever is in your way and try to get further than last time. One mistake ends the run, so stay sharp.
Controls
| Action | Keyboard | Touch |
|---|---|---|
| Move one lane left | Left arrow or A | Swipe left |
| Move one lane right | Right arrow or D | Swipe right |
| Jump | Up arrow or W | Swipe up |
| Slide | Down arrow or S | Swipe down |
On a phone, a short, quick flick anywhere on the screen is enough. Press Start (or Enter) to begin, and use the same button to play again after a run.
The three obstacles
- Low barrier. A short bar close to the ground. Jump over it. Sliding under it will not work.
- High barrier. A bar raised at head height. Slide underneath it. Jumping into it ends the run.
- Train. A train fills a whole lane and is too tall to jump and too solid to slide under. The only answer is to change lane, and you must do it early: a train also hits you from the side if you steer into it.
The track is generated fairly. Every row of obstacles leaves at least one lane you can get through, and the first 80 metres are free of obstacles so you can settle in.
Coins and score
Coins are scattered along the tracks. Each one adds 10 points. Your score is the distance you have run in metres plus your coin bonus. Coins are only points: they have no cash value and are not something you spend. Your best score is saved on your device.
The longer you survive, the faster the train line moves and the denser the obstacles become, until the speed reaches its cap. Every run is a little different.
Revive: continue after a crash
When you crash, the game may offer you a chance to keep going. You can accept by watching a short rewarded ad, or decline and finish the run. The offer is entirely optional and the game is fully playable without ever watching an ad. You can revive at most three times in a single run. If no ad can be shown, the run simply ends.
Tips
- Look ahead, not at your character. Decide your lane while obstacles are still far away.
- Prefer the middle lane when you can: it gives you the most ways out.
- Do not chase every coin. A crash costs far more than a missed coin.
- Swipe once and let go. Repeated swipes can queue extra moves you did not intend.
- Short on time? Even a 30-second run is a fine run. Beat your best next time.
